Pottery is light weight, decorative clay containers. There are many types and styles of pottery and a number of well-known and valued pottery companies. A famous pottery and stoneware company in southeastern Minnesota is Red Wing Pottery Company of Red Wing, MN. Other well-known companies are Weller, Roseville Pottery Company, University of North Dakota (UND), Rosemead, Fulper, Rookwood, Stangl and Hull Pottery .

Pottery was generally not intended for mixing and hard use as stoneware was. Shapes, sizes, rarity, glazes and styles determine the attractiveness, desirability and value of pottery.

Pottery many times is marked on the bottom with the shop mark of the maker - helping in it's identification and valuation.

They do go on buying trips so call first if it is the last 4 days of the month or during the months of January or February.
