Hull Pottery was founded in Zanesville, OH by Addis Emmet. By 1920, they
produced a full line of stoneware, art pottery,
gardenware, floral pots, etc. A very successful line was created in 1943 - "Red
Riding Hood" - figural kitchenware and novelty items. Items made with a matt
finish, produced prior to a 1950 fire at the pottery factory, are more highly
valued than those produced with a glossy finish after the factory was
rebuilt. The Hull Pottery closed completely in 1985. |
