The Victorian style in furniture, jewelry and home furnishings of all types came from the late 1800s, during the reign of Queen Victoria of England. This style is characterized by heavy fabrics, velvets, etc with ornate design.

Furniture in Victorian style generally is full of interesting carvings, and jewelry with many fine details.

The beautiful Victorian dining set is from the 1870s.

Victorian High Chairs, like the one shown, are in high demand as nursery and dining room decor.

Victorian furniture, which predates most popular country furniture, has heavy, darker wood and features more upholstery. This ornate and decorative furniture has been recovered in some cases by modern buyers with simpler fabrics to create a more contemporary look, but original fabric in good condition increases its value.

Cameos and small jewels were common in Victorian jewelry. The value of antique jewelry as an asset that appreciates is sometimes forgotten by shoppers.
